All sites must be assigned to an operating company and you can define as many operating companies as you need. This process allows you to add, edit, and remove operating companies. The information entered here is used when building the regulatory reports and to assign the state or federally issued operator IDs needed for reporting. Information concerning other companies, such as purchasers, processors, transporters, etc. are entered through the address book found under the menu bar under Tools | Address Book.

Where can I find it?
You can find this process on the main menu under Site | Operating Company Maintenance or by using the screen search at the top of the screen.
How do I use it?
The currently defined operating companies and the number of sites to which they are currently assigned are listed on the left of the screen. There are two actions you can perform, click an existing item to view it or add a new one. You may also remove and existing operating company if no sites are attached to it.
Adding a new operating company
- Click the button labeled 'Add Operating Company' at the bottom right of the screen.
- Enter the companies information. Only the operator's name is required.
- Click the button labeled 'Save Changes' at the top right of the screen to complete adding the operator.
Editing an existing operating company
- Select the operator to be edited from the list of existing operators to cause its information to be shown.
- Make the necessary changes.
- Click the button labeled 'Save Changes' at the top right of the screen.
Remove an operating company
- Select the operator to be removed from the list of existing operators.
- Click the button labeled 'Remove' at the bottom left of the screen.
- In the popup window confirm that you wish to remove the operating company.
Company Section
- The company section of this screen is where you can specify the name, address and other contact information for the operator.
- For companies that are used for regulatory reporting you should enter all fields as depending on the agency they will be needed when generating the reports.
- For other companies such as non-ops where you will not be generating any agency reports the only required field is the company name.
Agency IDs Section
- All agency reports require the use of an assigned operator ID. If you will be using a company to report under you should fill in the appropriate state or federal agency code.
- Note that the regulatory report processes limit the companies that are made available by looking or operating company records that have an agency ID assigned based on the report you are creating. If you are running a regulatory report and do not see it listed to build the report for most likely you haven't assigned the agency ID here.
